Speaking in Islamabad, Naqvi emphasized that the government’s primary focus was to restore normalcy and keep the city functional. He noted that most roads in Islamabad have been cleared. Some remaining issues are being addressed, including the completion of the F9 flyover, which is expected to be operational within the next 60 days. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is also working on underpasses to improve traffic flow.
The Interior Minister further clarified that all Afghan nationals living in Islamabad would need to secure an NOC from the designated office in order to continue their stay in the city after December 31. He warned that those without an NOC will not be allowed to remain within the city limits.
Addressing recent media reports and rumors, Naqvi strongly rejected claims of mass casualties, specifically the report of 33 bodies being found in hospitals across the city. He stated that no names of the deceased had been provided, and there was no evidence to support these claims. He criticized the spreading of unfounded propaganda and claimed that no police officers were armed with pistols during the incidents.
Naqvi urged those making such allegations to provide evidence and said that hospitals had reported no such situation.
