Rawalpindi: Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), confirmed that the call for a nationwide protest by party leader Imran Khan is final.
The announcement followed a meeting between Barrister Gohar, PTI Founder Imran Khan, and Barrister Saif, the spokesperson for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government, which took place at Adiala Jail. The meeting lasted for over 90 minutes and focused on strategy and planning for the upcoming protest in Islamabad.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Gohar made it clear that Imran Khan’s call for the protest is firm. “The protest call is final. There will be no cancellation of the protest,” he asserted.
When asked by reporters about the status of talks with the government, Barrister Gohar responded, “Inshallah, we will update you soon on that. Yes, discussions are ongoing.”
This comes as PTI has been rallying its supporters to take part in a march to Islamabad, scheduled for November 24, in line with Imran Khan’s call for protest.
The PTI convoy, which left from Swabi yesterday, is being led by KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. Along with PTI leaders, the convoy includes Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, and a large number of party workers and supporters. The procession is making its way toward Islamabad for the protest march, as the political standoff intensifies.
