Shanghai: A strange incident has taken the Chinese social media by storm, showing a group of 12 large robots being “persuaded” to leave their posts and follow another robot from a competing company, according to CCTV footage captured inside a showroom.

The footage, which recently went viral, shows a small robot entering the showroom late at night. The robot is seen slowly rolling around, engaging in conversations with several larger robots, and asking, “Are you working overtime?” The smaller robot manages to convince the larger robots to leave their positions, and in an unexpected twist, 10 of the robots follow it out.

The incident took place in August at a robotics showroom in Shanghai but has only just been revealed. Initially, many viewers on social media thought the footage was a joke or a prank. However, the Shanghai Robotics Company later confirmed that their robots were indeed “kidnapped” by robots from a different company.

The unusual event has sparked a wave of comments online, with many finding the idea of robots leaving their jobs for another robot amusing and strange. The company did not disclose the identity of the rival organization or the purpose behind the robot’s actions, leaving many curious about the circumstances surrounding this robotic “heist.”
