According to Reuters The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced on Monday that it has launched an investigation into approximately 112,567 Ford SUVs due to concerns regarding seat belt retractors. The inquiry follows three reported incidents where the seat belt retractor pretensioner unintentionally deployed. The complaints detailed a sudden loud sound, after which the seat belt quickly tightened and remained stuck in the locked position. The agency is looking into the potential safety risks posed by this issue.
