LONDON: A burglar stole $12.5 million in bespoke jewelry from a home on London’s exclusive Avenue Road.
The theft, which also included cash and luxury Hermes bags, occurred on December 7 at around 5 p.m.
The suspect entered through a second-floor window while the residents were away, police reported on Monday.
Hermes bags worth $190,000 and $19,000 in cash were stolen, alongside unique jewelry worth $12.4 million.

Description of Stolen Items

The stolen items included a Graff 10.73-carat diamond ring and two butterfly diamond rings from De Beers.
Other valuable items were Hermes necklaces, an aquamarine ring, and a bracelet engraved with “Shafira.”
Chopard earrings and Van Cleef & Arpels pieces were also among the distinctive stolen items.
Police described the burglar as a white male, late 20s to 30s, in dark clothing with a covered face.

Statement from Authorities

Detective Constable Paulo Roberts called the burglary a bold and armed invasion of the residents’ sanctuary.
The stolen items are not only valuable but sentimental, making them easily identifiable due to their unique design.
Authorities believe the lone burglar may rely on a broader network to profit from the stolen goods.
The investigation remains ongoing as police urge the public to report information on the stolen property.
