Peshawer: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has approved a compensation of one crore rupees each for the families of those killed in the D-Chowk incident in Islamabad.
Several significant decisions were also taken during the cabinet meeting. These include the provision of bulletproof vehicles to relevant authorities in South and merged districts, as well as in Malakand.
As part of the compensation package, the cabinet also approved 10 lakh rupees each for the injured individuals.
Other important approvals included the KP Public Service Commission’s annual report for 2023, and the presentation of the KP Revenue Authority’s annual report for the fiscal year 2022-23 in the provincial assembly. The cabinet also authorized the appointment of Information Commissioners.
Furthermore, the cabinet approved additional funds for the procurement and installation of security equipment such as jammers, communication systems, and CCTV cameras in prisons.
In a significant move, the cabinet approved the integration of 106 khasadars from District Mohmand into the KP Police force. The cabinet also sanctioned a one percent discount under the KP Sugarcane and Sugar Beet Control Board and Infrastructure Development Cess Act 2022 for the year 2024-25.
