ISLAMABAD: A significant change has taken place within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), with several key leaders being removed from their positions. According to Pakistani News Channel ARY news PTI founder, currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail, has made the decision to replace Barrister Gohar and Salman Akram Raja with Asad Qaiser and Ali Mohammad Khan in crucial party roles.

Following PTI’s final call for a protest, the founder of PTI appointed Asad Qaiser as the new party chairman and Ali Mohammad Khan as the central general secretary. PTI leader Shaukat Yousafzai confirmed that Asad Qaiser is now the party chairman, while Ali Mohammad Khan has been named the general secretary.

According to ARY NEWS this decision was also confirmed by Barrister Ali Zafar, who met the PTI founder in Adiala Jail. He stated that the founder had decided to give the old members a chance to lead the party.

Refutation of Asad Qaiser

However, Asad Qaiser later issued a statement denying the reports of him being named party chairman. He clarified that the decision regarding the general secretary would be made after consultation with the PTI founder.

Before this development, Salman Akram Raja resigned from his position as central general secretary. Shortly after, Sahibzada Hamid Raza announced his resignation from the PTI core committee and political committee. Raza also mentioned that he would submit his resignation from the National Assembly to the PTI founder after their meeting, citing failure to meet expectations from the party’s “final call.”

The reshuffle has caused a stir within PTI as these changes continue to unfold.
