NEW DEHLI: Indian National Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi has criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent speech in the Lok Sabha, describing it as a “math class.”
In her remarks, Gandhi expressed dissatisfaction with Modi’s speech, which lasted over 110 minutes, calling it boring and lacking any new ideas. “The speech was dull and repetitive, like two periods of math class at school,” she stated. She further added that Modi failed to deliver anything fresh or significant, which left her and others feeling disinterested. “I was hoping the Prime Minister would say something new, something impactful, but it was all the same,” Gandhi said.
The speech, delivered by Modi in the Lok Sabha on Saturday, included 11 resolutions that the Congress party has dismissed as meaningless and empty. According to reports, the opposition party criticized the content of the speech as being unoriginal and lacking substance.
Gandhi’s comments come amid growing dissatisfaction within the opposition regarding the Prime Minister’s approach to important issues. Congress has also questioned why key ministers, such as Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, were absent from the session during the speech. This absence raised eyebrows, with the opposition questioning their reasons for not being present during such a significant address.
The criticism from Priyanka Gandhi and the Congress party reflects the ongoing tension between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition, particularly over issues of governance and leadership. As the political landscape heats up, the Prime Minister’s speeches and the responses from opposition leaders are likely to remain a focal point in the lead-up to the next election
