ABBOTTABAD: Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has revealed that around 5,000 of the party’s workers have gone missing, and the party is gathering data on these missing individuals at the district level.
Speaking to the media in Abbottabad, Gohar Khan denied any political ambitions for Bushra Bibi, PTI’s leader Imran Khan’s wife, stating that she participated in the protests as an ordinary worker, not with any political agenda.
The PTI chairman also emphasized that the party is open to talks with all political parties, expressing a willingness to engage in dialogue. He further clarified that Ali Amin Gandapur did not misuse any government resources in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the protests.
Discussing the violent clashes, Gohar Khan stated that no political movement should result in the loss of life, affirming that PTI’s future course of action would be based on guidance from Imran Khan, the party’s founder. He added that he was in Abbottabad to express condolences to the families of the Party Workers martyrs.
PTI’s chairman also pointed out that no government should ever open fire on its citizens. He assured the families of the martyrs that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government would provide compensation and employment to the children of the deceased.
“Our struggle is for the restoration of democracy and the release of our founder, Imran Khan,” Gohar Khan said, emphasizing that despite personal sacrifices, the people remain steadfast in their support for Imran Khan.
