KARACHI: Police conducted a raid on the home of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Alamgir Khan in Karachi, taking him into custody early Wednesday morning.

Law enforcement officials confirmed the arrest, stating that Alamgir Khan was detained in connection with multiple cases registered in Islamabad. The arrest occurred at his residence in Gulshan-e-Iqbal shortly after Khan had returned to Karachi from Islamabad.

A spokesperson for Alamgir Khan revealed that the PTI leader had only just arrived in Karachi earlier today when police raided his home.

PTI Karachi President Raja Azhar strongly condemned the arrest, describing it as an unjust action. “Alamgir was apprehended shortly after reaching his residence. This is unacceptable, and we demand his immediate release,” Azhar said.

He further announced that the party intends to pursue legal action against the arrest. “We will take this matter to the courts and challenge this detention through all legal means available,” he added.

The incident has drawn criticism from PTI supporters, who view it as part of a broader crackdown on political dissent.
