PTI Leader Umar Ayub Arrested Outside Adiala Jail

Rawalpindi: Police have arrested Umar Ayub, a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the opposition leader in the National Assembly, near Adiala Jail.

Along with PTI Leader Umar Ayub , former Punjab provincial minister Raja Basharat, Malik Ahmed Chattha, and Azeemuddin were also detained by the authorities.

The PTI leaders were present at Adiala Jail to attend a hearing related to the GHQ attack case. However, police apprehended them from the jail premises and transferred them to the Adiala Jail police checkpoint.

Speaking to the media, Umar Ayub’s lawyer, Rana Mudassir, stated that both Umar Ayub and Raja Basharat were taken into custody by officials at the jail checkpoint. He added that it remains unclear under which case they have been arrested.
