DAMASCUS: Mohammad al-Jolani, leader of the rebel forces that ousted Assad, reassures foreign governments about Syria’s stability.
Speaking in Damascus, Jolani said foreign nations should not fear a new conflict, as the country seeks reconstruction.
“The regime is gone, and Syria is moving toward development and stability,” Jolani told reporters on Tuesday.
He emphasized that Syrians are exhausted from war, and the country is not ready for another conflict.
Jolani also cited Iranian militias and Hezbollah as the main sources of fear during the previous conflict in Syria.
