ALTOONA: A manhunt for Luigi Mangione, suspected of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan last week, ended Monday with his arrest at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
According to CNN Police say Mangione, 26, was identified by customers of McDonald’s and found with a laptop, backpack, and 3D-printed pistol.
Mangione, an Ivy League graduate from a wealthy family, allegedly targeted Thompson over grievances against corporate greed, police told CNN.
His handwritten manifesto expressed anger toward corporate America, declaring, “These parasites had it coming.”
Officers recognized him despite his medical mask and fake ID. When confronted, Mangione admitted his identity, visibly shaken.
Mangione faces charges, including murder and weapons possession, with extradition proceedings underway after being denied bail.
