TEL AVIV: Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office announced a finalized agreement with Hamas to release hostages held in Gaza.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refrained from commenting earlier Thursday, citing the need to finalize details.
The agreement, revealed by mediators from Qatar, the United States, and Egypt on Wednesday, includes a ceasefire in Gaza and the gradual release of hostages and Palestinian detainees.
Netanyahu instructed Israel’s security cabinet to convene on Friday, followed by a government session to approve the accord.
“The State of Israel remains determined to achieve all wartime objectives, including the return of all hostages—alive and deceased,” read the statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
