BERLIN:  The German Parliament has approved a new immigration law with the backing of the far-right. After this approval, Germany has also implemented border control security at its borders.

The Parliament passed a resolution emphasizing stricter immigration restrictions, supported by the far-right political party Alternative for Germany (AfD).

This movement was introduced by the conservative opposition CDU-CSU ahead of the February 23 elections and was supported by the AfD.

The resolution was approved with 348 votes in favor, 345 against, and 10 members absent.

The decision came after a knife attack by an Afghan national that resulted in the deaths of two people, including a 2-year-old child.

The resolution demands that the government initiate permanent border control measures and reject all attempts at illegal entry without exception.
