Raafat Salha, The director of the Independent Commission for Human Rights (ICHR) in Gaza, has tragically Killed following an Israeli airstrike earlier this week, according to official sources. The Gaza Ministry of Health and the Al Mezan Center for Human Rights confirmed the incident. Which also claimed the lives of 12 members of Salha’s family, including his wife and four children.

The Tragic Incident

The airstrike struck a residential home in Deir al-Balah at 11:35 p.m. local time on Tuesday. Where Salha and his family were sheltering. Salha sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to Al-Aqsa Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning.

In a statement issued Wednesday, the ICHR condemned the attack. Saying, “The Independent Commission for Human Rights holds the occupying power, Israel, fully responsible for this atrocity, which adds to a long series of crimes against civilians in Gaza.”
