TELAVIV: Three empty buses exploded on the outskirts of Tel Aviv in what Israeli police call a “suspected terror attack.” The blasts occurred Thursday night in Bat Yam, a city south of Tel Aviv.
Authorities confirmed there were no casualties in the explosions. Two additional buses were also targeted, but their explosive devices failed to detonate.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered a military response, targeting “terrorist centers” in the occupied West Bank.

Videos circulating on social media captured a bus engulfed in flames, with smoke billowing into the sky. Police are actively searching for more explosive devices in the Tel Aviv area.
Police spokesperson Aryeh Doron stated that officers are still scanning the region for further threats. He urged citizens to stay vigilant and report any suspicious objects.
Doron suggested that the attackers might have miscalculated the timing of the explosions. However, he stressed that investigations were ongoing.
Tulkarm Connection
Local media reported that one unexploded device weighed 5kg and carried a message: “Revenge from Tulkarm.” This appears to reference a recent Israeli military operation in the West Bank.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have been targeting Palestinian militant groups in the West Bank, focusing particularly on Tulkarm and Jenin.
The military’s counter-terrorism operations have resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians. Tensions in the region remain high.
Transport Shutdown
Following the blasts, Transport Minister Miri Regev temporarily halted all bus, train, and light rail services across Israel. The move was intended to allow authorities to inspect for additional explosive devices.
