GAZA:  Hamas has postponed the release of Israeli hostages until further notice due to alleged Israeli violations.

The group claims Israel failed to comply with agreed terms regarding humanitarian aid and displaced persons.

Hamas’s armed wing stated the delay is a response to Israel’s “failure to meet obligations.”

The hostage release, scheduled for February 15, 2025, will not proceed as planned.

Alleged Violations

Hamas accuses Israel of blocking humanitarian aid and attacking civilians returning to northern Gaza.

They also cite delays in allowing displaced persons to return to their homes.

The group claims to have fully upheld its commitments under the agreement.

It insists Israel must retroactively fulfill its past obligations before hostages are freed.

Official Statement

Hamas’s military wing issued a statement detailing its grievances against Israel’s actions.

It reiterated its commitment to the terms of the agreement if Israel also complies.

The statement accuses Israel of “violating agreements and targeting civilians with gunfire and shelling.”

Hamas insists it will only reconsider release if Israel meets conditions.

Ongoing Tensions

This development further complicates efforts to resolve the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict.

International mediators have urged both sides to honor commitments for a peaceful resolution.

Israel has yet to officially respond to Hamas’s claims and decision.

The situation remains tense, with no clear resolution in sight.
