The authorities in the United Arab Emirates have released a new advisory for expatriates interested in applying for the UAE’s visa amnesty scheme.

The amnesty seekers who wish to return to their countries are directed to keep up with the duration stipulated for their exit permits after normalizing their residency in the UAE.

According to reports from ICP, the over-stay violators of UAE are urged to ensure compliance with the 14 days exit permits issued them, issued through the amnesty program.

The ICP (Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security) has announced that exit permits for expatriates in the UAE can now be easily obtained through an electronic service. Applicants can access this service via their company or personal accounts, official typing centers, or the UAE’s official website and smart app.

  4. Select the Individual: Specify the person for whom the exit permit is being requested.
  5. Submit the Application: Review and update the details before submitting and paying the required fees.
  6. Receive the Exit Permit: The permit will be sent via email, and individuals must depart within the permitted timeframe.

The ICP also emphasized the importance of leaving the country before the permit or grace period expires, which ends on December 31.

The UAE authorities have issued a stern warning to individuals who violate the country’s visa rules. Those who fail to leave the UAE within the grace period will face the reinstatement of previous penalties, including fines and restrictions on re-entry.

The UAE government launched a visa amnesty program that runs from September 1 to October 31, 2024. During this period, expatriates who decide to leave voluntarily will not be subject to overstay penalties, exit fees, or entry bans.

Additionally, individuals who take advantage of the amnesty will retain the right to return to the UAE at any time, provided they hold a valid visa and the necessary documents for re-entry.
