SHEIKHUPURA: A public holiday has been declared in Sheikhupura district on December 5, coinciding with the by-election for the PP-139 constituency in Punjab.
By-election will be held on December 5. In light of this, the district administration of Sheikhupura has announced a public holiday to ensure smooth conduct of the election.
The Deputy Commissioner’s Office has officially issued a notification.
The PP-139 Punjab Assembly seat became vacant after the passing of Rana Afzal Hussain, who had earlier filled the seat after Rana Tanveer Hussain vacated it following his election to a different position.
The holiday is intended to facilitate the voting process in the district, allowing residents to participate in the election without any work-related interruptions.
