NEWYORK: Alia Fakhri, sister of actress Nargis Fakhri, was arrested for the alleged double murder of two people.
The incident occurred on the morning of December 2nd in New York, when Alia, 43, screamed, “Today is your last day.”
Neighbors rushed out and saw the house engulfed in flames.
Reports say Alia’s ex-boyfriend Jacob, 35, and his 33-year-old friend Ateen were asleep upstairs.
After the fire was extinguished, both victims were found dead from smoke inhalation and burns.
Alia Fakhri was arrested by police, and further legal action will be taken.
Nargis Fakhri has not yet responded to the incident.
Indian media reported that Nargis and Alia’s mother denied her involvement in the crime.
Jacob’s mother said Alia tried to rekindle her relationship with Jacob, but he rejected her.
Jacob and Ateen were happy together, and Alia acted out of jealousy, according to his mother.
