RIYADH: A devastating road accident in Saudi Arabia claimed the lives of seven members of the same family, including a couple and their five children.
According to reports from local media and news agencies, the tragic incident occurred on the Khurais-Al-Ahsa road as the family, originally from Jazan, was traveling to the Eastern Province.
The vehicle, carrying Ali bin Mohammed Al-Haddadi, his wife Aish bint Ahmed Al-Haddadi, their sons Mohammed and Hossam, and three daughters, collided with another car. The impact caused the family’s vehicle to overturn and immediately burst into flames, resulting in the deaths of all passengers at the scene.
The family patriarch’s brother, Ahmed Al-Haddadi, expressed his deep grief over road accident and shared heartbreaking details about his final conversation with his brother. “Before the journey, we spoke on the phone. He reached out to all family members, asked about everyone’s well-being, and requested prayers for his journey,” Ahmed said. “Looking back, it feels like he sensed something about his last moments.”
Ahmed recounted that the accident not only claimed lives but has left their entire family and community in profound sorrow.
The victims were laid to rest on Saturday following funeral prayers at Al-Ahsa’s Al-Rashidiya cemetery. The tragedy has highlighted the dangers of road travel and sparked an outpouring of grief in the region.
Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident while renewing calls for safer driving practices and adherence to traffic regulations to prevent such catastrophic incidents.
