“I’m here to celebrate and thank the LORD for all He has done in my life. Today is the day I get my new kidney,” Robinson wrote in his post. He also thanked fans, friends, and family for their prayers and support during this difficult time.
A Long Battle with Kidney Disease
Robinson first learned about his kidney condition early in his NBA career with the New York Knicks. However, he did not speak publicly about his health issues until 2022, several years after retiring from professional basketball.
