PTI ended the protest on Tuesday night, with its leadership retreating to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Shaukat Yousafzai, a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), expressed his frustration with the party’s central leadership, accusing them of abandoning the protesters and leaving them feeling disheartened.

Shaukat Yousafzai criticizes PTI leadership

In an interview with a private TV channel, Shaukat Yousafzai expressed disappointment over the absence of PTI’s central leadership during recent demonstrations, particularly after the party had announced protests in Islamabad. “Where was the leadership during the protests? They have let us down,” he said, highlighting concerns about poor communication and coordination.

Yousafzai also questioned the party’s decision-making, specifically why the proposal for a protest in Sangjani was dismissed in favor of D-Chowk. “Why was the Sangjani option rejected? The choice of D-Chowk for the protests needs proper examination,” he remarked.

He noted that only Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi were visibly present during the protests, while many senior leaders were absent.

According to Yousafzai, the lack of consultation within the party left it without a clear strategy or sense of direction.

These internal divisions and the absence of a unified approach have led to growing frustration among PTI members, he added.
