New Orleans: The FBI announced the New Orleans Bourbon Street attack was carried out by a single suspect, Shamsud-Din Jabbar.
“No other individuals are linked to this attack at this time,” said Deputy Assistant Christopher Raia from Counterterrorism.
This marks a shift from earlier claims, which considered possible accomplices and investigated Jabbar’s known associates.
Initial assessments suggested others may have planted separate explosive devices at the scene, sparking additional concerns.

Earlier Concerns About Possible Accomplices
The FBI’s earlier statement explored the likelihood of collaboration by Jabbar’s associates in the devastating New Year’s attack.
“We aggressively followed all leads to determine connections,” Assistant Special Agent Alethea Duncan said previously.
This evolving investigation now concludes Jabbar as a lone attacker without operational support from others.
The case remains under close observation, but current findings strongly indicate no broader network involvement.

Investigators Conclude Case Isolated to Jabbar
Jabbar drove into crowds using a truck in the tragic Bourbon Street incident, injuring and killing several.
Reports initially speculated on additional explosive devices; however, this theory has now been dismissed.
The FBI emphasized continuing diligence to ensure no oversights remain in their findings about the tragic attack.
For now, officials say their efforts are centered on understanding Jabbar’s motivations and preventing future incidents.
