NEW DEHLI: India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar has stated that relations between India and China have not returned to normal since 2020 due to actions taken by China.

In a briefing to the Lok Sabha, the Indian Parliament’s lower house, Jaishankar discussed the ongoing border issues and the state of India-China relations.

He emphasized that both India and China need to strictly adhere to agreements on the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the de facto border between the two countries. Jaishankar highlighted that despite the tensions, there has been some improvement in the relationship following recent diplomatic efforts.

The Foreign Minister also reaffirmed India’s commitment to continuing talks with China to find a mutually acceptable framework for resolving the ongoing border disputes.

Jaishankar’s comments come amidst continuing concerns over military standoffs along the border, particularly after the violent clashes in 2020, which led to the loss of lives on both sides and deepened the tensions between the two nations.

While the diplomatic dialogue continues, India remains firm in its stance on safeguarding its territorial integrity and ensuring peace along the border with China.
