Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh, a woman left her husband and six children to run away with a beggar, Indian media reported.
The husband, Raju, filed a police complaint under Section 87, accusing the beggar of kidnapping his wife.
Raju, 45, lived with his 36-year-old wife, Rajeshwari, and their children in Harpalpur, Uttar Pradesh.
According to Raju, a 45-year-old beggar named Nanhe Pandit often visited their neighborhood and spoke with Rajeshwari.
The two reportedly communicated over the phone regularly, raising Raju’s suspicions before the incident.
Wife Disappeared After Going to the Market
On January 3, around 2 p.m., Rajeshwari told their daughter Khushboo she was going to buy vegetables and clothes.
When she failed to return, Raju searched everywhere but couldn’t find her, leading him to approach the police.
Raju believes Rajeshwari eloped with Nanhe Pandit and also took money obtained by selling a buffalo.
Police Investigations Underway
The police have launched an investigation to locate Rajeshwari and the beggar, Nanhe Pandit.
Authorities are treating the case as a suspected abduction under the husband’s complaint.
The incident has gained attention locally due to its unusual circumstances.
Husband Blames the Beggar
Raju blames Nanhe Pandit, saying the beggar manipulated his wife during his visits and frequent conversations with her.
He claimed that both parties deliberately planned the disappearance to escape together.
Raju’s loss included personal finances, further exacerbating his frustration and prompting him to involve the police.
Community Reacts
The case has sparked debates about personal relationships, with many wondering what drove Rajeshwari to leave her family.
Authorities continue searching for the pair, promising updates as new information surfaces.
