Doha: Arab nations are actively preparing comprehensive Gaza reconstruction plans, all while ensuring that Palestinians can remain in their homeland during the rebuilding process, as stated by Qatar’s foreign ministry spokesperson Majed Al Ansari on Wednesday.
Arab Nations Committed to Gaza’s Reconstruction
Speaking to Fox News, Al Ansari emphasized that regional leaders have a strategy for rebuilding Gaza.
“Arab ministers made it very clear that we have our plans for the reconstruction of Gaza while the Palestinians are still there,” he stated.
His remarks come amid speculation about possible relocations of Palestinian residents as the war-torn region undergoes rebuilding. However, he declined to comment on specific proposals regarding the displacement of Palestinians.
Ceasefire Negotiations Take Priority
Al Ansari stressed that the focus should remain on securing a long-term ceasefire between Hamas and Israel. He highlighted ongoing efforts to extend the current truce, emphasizing the importance of diplomatic negotiations.
“We are now quite busy preparing for phase two of the negotiations, which will start hopefully any day now,” he said.
He expressed hope that these talks would lead to a sustainable peace agreement and create a foundation for Gaza’s reconstruction.
International Efforts Needed for Lasting Peace
While discussing postwar plans for Gaza, Al Ansari underscored the importance of global cooperation.
“No one player around the world can do it alone. This has to be an international effort led by countries like the United States to ensure sustainable peace in the region,” he added.
His comments signal a push for a collective international approach to rebuilding Gaza and fostering long-term stability.
Conclusion
Arab nations remain committed to Gaza’s reconstruction while keeping Palestinians in their homeland. However, officials emphasize that peace negotiations must take priority before rebuilding can begin. With international backing, a sustainable resolution for Gaza may become possible in the near future.
