Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is now out of the intensive care unit (ICU) and on the path to recovery after a terrifying incident at his home in Bandra West, Mumbai. On Thursday, Khan was stabbed six times by an intruder, sustaining injuries that included a stab wound to his neck.
Quick Recovery After Serious Injury
Doctors at Lilavati Hospital have reported that Saif is doing well following a five-hour surgery to remove a 2.5-inch piece of the blade from his spine. Dr. Nitin Narayan Dange stated, “Saif Ali Khan is doing excellent. We made him walk, and he can walk well. There is no problem and not much pain.” The decision to move him from the ICU to a special room comes with restrictions on visitor access to reduce the risk of infection, especially considering the seriousness of his spine injury. Fortunately, there is no danger of paralysis.
The Incident Unfolded
The attack took place around 2:30 AM while Khan was at home with his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their two sons. The intruder, armed with a knife and a wooden stick, entered their apartment and demanded a ransom of ₹1 crore. Eliyama Philip, a nurse caring for Khan’s younger son, was the first to spot the intruder and bravely confronted him, but not without injury.

When Khan and Kapoor rushed to investigate after hearing Philip’s screams, they encountered the intruder. Despite being attacked, Khan managed to confront the assailant, allowing his family to escape.
Investigation and Ongoing Search
Police have launched an investigation, forming 20 teams to apprehend the suspect. Although there were no signs of forced entry, CCTV footage captured the intruder fleeing the scene. Authorities believe the assailant was familiar with the building’s layout, having used the fire escape to gain access.
Conclusion
Saif Ali Khan’s recovery is a testament to his resilience, but the incident highlights significant safety concerns regarding celebrity security. As the investigation continues, fans and fellow actors alike are relieved that he is recovering well and expressing their support during this challenging time.
