RAWALPINDI: Funeral prayers for the three police personnel martyred during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest were held at Chaklala Garrison.

According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir attended the ceremony to pay their respects to the fallen officers.

The ISPR confirmed that the three officers—Naik Muhammad Ramzan, Sepoy Gulfam Khan, and Sepoy Shah Nawaz—were killed during a protest on the previous day. Their bodies have been sent to their hometowns, where they will be laid to rest with full military honors.

In his address, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the violent actions that led to the deaths, stating that such acts of aggression were pushing the limits of law enforcement’s patience. He emphasized that Pakistan cannot afford to descend into chaos and bloodshed for political gain. The Prime Minister also called the violent actions “unacceptable and deeply condemnable,” and extended the nation’s gratitude and tributes to the martyred officers for their sacrifice.
