San Diego: A fatal dog attack in San Diego’s Mira Mesa neighborhood on Friday left one person dead and another gravely injured, according to the San Diego Humane Society.

San Diego Police Department alerted Humane Society officers, who responded to the scene shortly after noon to contain the situation. Tragically, the first victim succumbed to their injuries, and their family has been informed about Dog Attack.

“We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the grieving family during this unimaginable loss,” stated the Humane Society in an official message.

The attack involved three dogs—two were captured after being loose, while the third was secured in a vehicle. Following standard procedure, the animals were placed in quarantine, humanely euthanized, and subjected to rabies testing.

A second victim, hurt while attempting to assist, was discovered the following day and taken to a hospital for medical care. They are currently recovering.

Surveillance footage surfaced, showing the dogs being walked toward a local park several hours prior to the incident. A separate individual, who later surrendered custody of the dogs, identified the animals as “XL bully breeds.” Investigative records revealed no prior reports of aggressive behavior.

San Diego Humane Society’s spokesperson, Nina Thompson, assured the public of a comprehensive and collaborative investigation alongside law enforcement authorities.

Authorities have urged individuals with any additional information to contact investigators as they continue to piece together the circumstances of this tragedy.
