BULAWAYO: Pakistan has set Zimbabwe a target of 166 runs in the first T20 match.

Batting first after winning the toss, Pakistan scored 165/4 in their allotted 20 overs.

The top scorers for Pakistan were Tayyab Tahir, who remained unbeaten on 39 runs, and Irfan Khan, who also finished not out on 27 runs.

Other notable contributions came from Usman Khan with 39 runs, Saim Ayub (24), Aamir Yousuf (16), and captain Salman Ali Agha (13).

For Zimbabwe, Sikandar Raza and Richard Ngarava took one wicket each, while Wellington Masakadza and Ryan Burl also claimed a wicket each.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Pakistan’s captain, Salman Ali Agha, mentioned that they wanted to win the T20 series and give young players a chance to perform. He also added that the pitch would offer more assistance to the bowlers in the second innings, which is why they chose to bat first.

Pakistan’s squad includes captain Salman Ali Agha, Saim Ayub, Aamir Yousuf, Usman Khan, Tayyab Tahir, Mohammad Irfan Khan, Jahan Dad Khan, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Haris Rauf, Abrar Ahmed, and Sufyan Maqeem.
