WASHINGTON: President-elect Donald Trump reacted to President Joe Biden‘s unexpected decision to pardon his son, Hunter Biden, following legal troubles involving gun and tax charges. Biden’s pardon, which surprised many and contradicted his earlier stance on not intervening in his son’s case, drew sharp criticism from Trump.

In a post on Truth Social on Sunday night, Trump expressed disbelief over the pardon and questioned Biden’s priorities. He suggested that the president should have instead focused on granting clemency to those involved in the January 6th Capitol riots.

“Does the pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years?” Trump wrote. “Such an abuse and miscarriage of justice!”

Trump’s comments highlighted the ongoing political divide over the January 6th protests, with many of the participants still facing legal repercussions. His remarks suggest that he believes Biden’s actions regarding his son Hunter’s case are out of touch with the public’s concerns about the rioters still incarcerated.
