ISLAMABAD: Security sources have dismissed reports of protesters’ deaths during recent clashes in Islamabad as false and fabricated.
In response to claims circulating on social media, which suggested that several protesters were killed due to shelling by law enforcement agencies during the protest, the security officials stated that these reports were entirely baseless. They clarified that the stories of fatalities were part of a smear campaign aimed at spreading misinformation.
Further elaborating on the matter, the security sources asserted that such false propaganda was being spread to cover up failures and shortcomings. They also confirmed that no live ammunition was used during the police and Rangers’ operation the previous night. The operation, they emphasized, did not involve any use of firearms or other lethal means against the protesters.
The authorities are actively working to refute the misleading claims and maintain transparency regarding the situation.
