ALEPPO: A new rebellion is gaining momentum in southern Syria’s Daraa province, far from the main northern offensive.
The newly formed rebel group declared its aim to “unite efforts to build a new Syria.”
Videos geolocated by CNN showed rebels seizing a road near the Jordan border, south of Daraa city.
The southern Syrian uprising began in 2012 when activists created Free Syrian Army (FSA) groups in Daraa.
While there have been consistent low-level clashes, Friday’s violence marks the first significant rebellion in years.
